Operations Executive (Data Centre Floor Manager)

  • Management of the data centre facilities and the raised floor
  • The raised floor manager is responsible for the physical placement of computer hardware and forecasting raised floor utilization for new and existing business. The raised floor manager works with all MCS groups responsible for accounts within the data center to plan and execute customer requests. Additionally, the raised floor manager plans, specifies, orders and verifies power requirements for new and existing workload in the data center, as well as, manages equipment placement and raised floor utilization
  • Work with our client’s Critical Facilities Enviornment team and manage the facility vendors and JCI to ensure the availability of the data centre
  • Monitors capacity, utilisation and redundancy of the various facility components
  • Management of facility maintenance, testing, upgrading and expansion plans of the data centre
  • Coordinates and integrates facilities projects. Controls and ensures that objectives remain consistent with the overall facilities needs and are achieved on schedule
  • Inspects and evaluates the use of space and facilities in conjunction with lease agreement, space planning, security and safety
  • Coordinates facilities staff and their interaction with the construction effort. Insures MOP's and BOP’s are in place during critical work activities
  • Assumes implementation responsibility for all safety and health regulations. Oversees various emergency response and preparedness initiatives
  • Develops and manages facility quality policies, procedures, processes, facility rack management, change management and audit sequences in support of customer, security and operational requirements
  • Audits quality systems and processes (Metrics/Benchmarks and SLAs) to ensure agreed standards for quality are met
  • Ensure compliance to all audits conducted in the data centre inclusive of SAS70, SOX, ISO 9000, MAS, Bank Negara audits
  • Assists the Data Centre Manager for achieving facility operational objectives (productivity, marketing, reporting requirements, etc) for the business unit
  • Serves as key resource in escalation and resolution of facility issues while directing, managing and coordinating the activities associated with the business unit operations
  • Realistic budget planning and control expenses spending
  • Works with the Production Integration Executive in the management of the processes in the movement of equipment going in and out of the data centre
  • Technology: Leverages knowledge of technologies and equipment to maintain and troubleshoot systems.
    • People: Represents our client in maintaining relationships with facility management supplier.
    • Customer: Identifies and manages service improvements to increase customer satisfaction. Ensures satisfactory delivery of all facilities activities.
    • Business: Executes central control over change implementation and coordinates the integration of facilities services with business needs.
    • Financial: Manages budgets and expenditures in alignment with facilities maintenance and modifications.
    Qualifications
    • Degree holder with minimum 1-2 years working experience in data centre environment, operations and facilities
    • Understands major facility terms and its workings
    • Experience in Managing vendors to handle facilities inclusive of capacity, utilisation, contracts, maintenance and expansion
    • Prior working experience in critical facility environment would be an advantage
    • Background in mechanical and electrical experience would also be an advantage
