As a DBA, you will be  required to have database skills vary depending on the types of solutions we use. DBA needs some mix of the following abilities:
*       Logical and physical data modeling and database design
*       Database creation, maintenance, and management
*       Metadata management
*       Database performance monitoring, tuning, and management
*       Indexing strategy and management
*       SQL code reviews
*       Database security and integrity
*       Database availability, backup and recovery
*       General systems management and networking skills
