Our US MNC client seeks a REGIONAL Wintel Systems / Virtualisation Specialist operating at Level 3
Scope
- Monitor the health and analyze performance of the server environment.
- Make recommendations and implement changes to improve the overall performance.
- Hardware buildoutto expand and refresh available physical resources.
- Identify realignment needs of resources to correct under provisioned and overprovisioned virtual systems.
- Recommend best practices for design and installation of new virtual platforms.
- Test, upgrade, and migrate virtual environment as new versions of software and hardware become available.
- Create and document procedures regarding virtualization standards within the organization.
- Under minimal direction, performs basic analysis, design, implementation and maintenance activities in various areas of IT
- Formulates and/or defines scope and objectives of feasibility studies.
- Works independently and leads assignments of moderate to medium complexity.
- Provides direction to peers, junior team members and/or external consultants.
- Consistently applies the concepts of appropriate standard methodologies and best practices.
- Prepares reports, records progress and creates solutions to IT problems/issues.
- Partners with customer community to devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems or improve existing processes.
- Interfaces with suppliers and vendors as needed to evaluate software, hardware or services and makes recommendations.
- Applies principles, concepts and practices of the IT Competency Model at the Senior Analyst level.
- Proactively enforces worldwide and local security policies to ensure IT information assets are protected.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ Years of VMware virtualization technologies (e.g. ESXi, vCenter) including design, configuration, and implementation in large enterprise environments required
- Experience managing private cloud environments as well as developing highly available virtualization environments including defining monitoring standards, operational procedures and growth plans required
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skillsrequired
- Able to adapt to dynamic environment required
- 5+ Years of experience in system administration of Microsoft Windows Server OS required
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCPrequired
- Experience with Enterprise storage technologiesie. EMC VMAX, VNX, XIO preferred
- Experience with network technologies, including VLANs, NATs, Virtual Switches a plus
- Technical competency with identified hardware platforms a plus: HP, Dell, Cisco UCS, EMC, IBM, Brocade and emerging technologies
- Experience with Zerto replication technology a plus
- Experience with additional VMware tools (e.g., vRealize Operations, View, Site Recovery Manager) a plus
- Ability to use command line and scripting tools such as PowerShell or PowerCLI a plus
- Experience with Linux system administration a plus
- ITIL Foundations and experience with ServiceNow IT Service Management tools a plus
- Implementation of IT Security policies and practices a plus
- IT Equipment procurement and Asset management a plus
- Ability to transport PCs, printers, servers and monitors-lift up to 60 lbs required
- Ability to sit for long periods of time required
Up to 20% regional travelling requirement
Professional Academic REquirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology
- Technical IT certifications a plus – VCP5-DCV/VCP6-DCV, Zerto ZCP, MCP, MCSA, CCNA
