Global L2 Support Specialist (MQ, UNIX, database , production)

Our client operates a 24x7 command centres in 2 complementary seamless follow the sun global command centres in North America and Singapore. These 2 command centres provide proactive monitoring and reactive support services to global clients around the world in areas of NETWORKS, SYSTEMS , SECURITY , ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS. Their command centre are staffed with LEVEL 1,LEVEL 1.5 and LEVEL 2 escalated specialised support teams.
For their level 2 APPLICATION support team , they are seeking 4 persons to provide escalated support from level 1, out of which 2 will be based in Singapore. These two will be responsible to provide support on production systems running passenge related CHECKIN systems.
Essential Skills
- Min 3-5 years technical support experience in a production environment (eg. on-line banking systems, hosted systems)
- Working experience in UNIX environment such as skills in command line structure, filestructure and general navigation skills in UNIX
- Excellent background in IBM MQ with knowledge in troubleshooting messaging queue issues, channel restarting etc
- Good background in database querying and troubleshooting in SQL and Oracle
- TCP/IP knowledge

Knowledge of ITIL and service management practices and procedures

Service, Incident and Problem management experience in a service desk
environment.
Advantageous Skillls Required
- Web hosting systems such as Apache and Tomcat
- clustered file systems
- Java
- Shell scripting
- Travel application related skillsets

Other important consideration
- Candidates will need to be trained in the UK for a period of 3-6 months
- Working hours will be primarily Singapore daylight working hours.
- Candidates can be expected to by on rostered standby, for after daylight hours support
