Database Manager (data mining and marketing support)


The key role of the Database Manager manages and supervises the database teams here at the HQ and in India. The incumbent will be responsible for the database and analytical support for the Marketing, Editorial and Chairman’s office.  This person will work closely with the Marketing Managers and Executives and Editors in the selection and preparation of mailing lists, as well as co-ordinate and execute data processing requests from the various teams.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide database and analytical support for the various teams in their direct marketing and publishing efforts
  • Targetting Audience Profiling
  • Take lead on augmentation and build-up of data sources based on publishing and marketing needs
  • Continually supervise on the clean-up of existing data and ensure that data is fresh, current and as enhanced as possible to ensure the most effective use of all the information available
  • Manage projects handled by the Internet Research team in Chennai, as well as temporary staff and interns

Position Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology/Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in data management and manipulation of databases
  • A strong understanding of the fundamentals of databases and good SQL experience
  • Meticulous and pay attention to detail with good problem solving skills are required
  • Familiarity in academic research environment and resourceful will be an advantage
