At UL Identity Management & Security (IMS) we aim to make the cyber world more secure. We make sure the security functions of products and systems work as they should, and we help customers test their connected technologies for hackability. Through our creation of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, we help our customers define and implement their security strategies. (link: https://ims.ul.com/) UL's Identity Management & Security division is hiring a Security Analyst, Pen Tester based in Singapore. The Secure Element team serves to offer certification services for (new) cards based products in the payment industry. Since this market is moving and growing rapidly, IMS - as a customer-focused company - needs to constantly move along with and adapt to the market. The successful candidate for this position will evaluate the security of embedded products, such as payment cards, mobile devices, payment terminals or e-Passports. This will include the analysis of embedded application like products under evaluation, the development and the realization of high level penetration tests, and the support and the training of engineers for evaluation projects. The Security Analyst also works on the security of software applications and undertake chargeable security evaluation tasks or duties with the respect of deadlines and customer requirements. The chargeable tasks may include:- Perform code review in customer offices or UL premises to analyze the evaluated product. Once the vulnerability analysis is done the engineer defines the test plan with the project leader. Perform software penetration testing for evaluation with regards to reverse engineering (static and dynamic) and protocol attacks. Projects report writing in compliance with the laboratory and industry best practices rules. Contribute to the R&D team: attack tools development, new attack development, analysis tools. Security activities requires engineer to be at the-state-of-the-art. Research, development and the realization of innovative attacks on products under evaluation are tasks to be considered. Maintain/improve technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, obtaining applicable certifications participating in professional societies and cross-departmental task forces. Possess a Bachelor in Computer Science or to other technical discipline with minimum 2 years of relevant working experience High analytical skills with experience in software on embedded products, preferably within the payment or security industry, smart cards Software coding / modelling skills (examples: C, Assembly Languages, etc). Relevant security certifications such as FIPS 140-2, PCI and CC certifications for regional schemes are a plus Experience in Common Criteria evaluations applied to embedded products Experience in software on embedded products, hardware experience is a plus Working understanding of Cryptography and security protocols Familiar with test equipment and working in a multi-skills environment mixing electronic, optical, security, mechanical, and IT.
