Job Description With Illumina’s cloud-enabled environment for data management and analysis, we offer a complete solution that begins at the point of data generation – the sequencing instrument. This approach combines continuous ly curated public content with your own unique data sets and analysis. Our security team is looking for a talented Security Engineer to help us strengthen our world-class business. As a valued team member, you will identify, evaluate, provision and maintain controls, providing visibility into the health, and security of our environment. Our tools are used both day-to-day in routine monitoring as well as during outages or incidents when there is urgency and every minute counts. You will be collaborating closely with engineering, operations and technology groups to define and maintain security, using modern technologies in private cloud and public cloud (AWS) infrastructure with a global footprint. You are a highly motivated to integrate security capabilities into continuous release planning and execution for all Illumina cloud products. Responsibilities Drive the vulnerability management program Support project deliverables across internal stakeholders Evaluate existing controls to identify gaps and areas for improvement Assist in evaluating new controls and technologies Build automation to implement, and integrate security into the DevOps Building new scripts and tools to act as monitoring plugins using shell, or Python Building new dashboards and alert boards in Splunk or other tools Respond to security incidents according to an incident response plan/playbook Drive security by turning requirements into actions and deliverables Work in a very fast-pace environment, delivering KPI driven monitoring Requirements 5 years Unix administrator experience. 2 years security engineering experience Previous experience and excellent understanding of Splunk or any other enterprise-grade monitoring/log management tools Revision control systems such as git or svn Proficient with recent shell, Python Recent experience with SAAS monitoring tools through API Great verbal and written communication skills Efficient and skilled team player to deliver combined results Experience with public and/or private clouds Deployment automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, CloudFormation, or Ansible Nice to have Experience with DevSecOps environments and AWS security controls a strong plus Familiarity and experience with standards and compliance frameworks including ISO, SANS, OWASP, NIST, SSAE SOC, ITIL, etc. Familiarity with Chinese Cybersecurity regulations Familiarity with GDPR and other privacy regulations Illumina believes that everyone has the ability to make an impact, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunity regardless of sex, race, creed, color, gender, religion, marital status, domestic partner status, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, pregnancy, military or veteran status, citizenship status, and genetic information.
