Sephora Digital’s Technology team builds products that power our business across South East Asia & Oceania. We are looking for an Engineer to join our “User and Loyalty” squad. A team which is responsible for building products and features around identity, authentication, reviews and loyalty for our website & apps. This includes functional areas such as account and preference management, authentication and authorization across our stack and integration with our 3rd party loyalty and CRM providers What you will do: You will be designing features, building clean, secure and highly scalable systems around authentication and loyalty for our multi-tenant in-house build e-commerce engine. You make it possible for us to deliver an engaging and seamless customer experience to our many fans across 9 countries, and ensure that the online store remains our flagship in South East Asia. Reporting to a Principal Engineer you will work on high impact products which directly impact our revenue and customer satisfaction - two of our key metrics for success. This is a great platform for an ambitious engineer with excellent technical skills to start a career with Sephora, the leading omni-channel retailer in South East Asia. Responsibilities: Participate in AGILE Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for our user-centric technology solutions with both local and remote team members Build and enhance scalable and secure authentication solutions that work across our different platforms and services Maintain and build integrations with our 3rd party CRM and loyalty providers And as part of the company’s vision, work towards the goal of providing our customers with a seamless omnichannel experience. REQUIREMENTS You are technically proficient and have at least 2 years of experience You are willing to be involved in end-to-end software development You value core software engineering practices (i.e. Data Structures, Algorithms, Scalability Security, Testing) You have demonstrated experience in designing and building scalable, adaptable APIs Proficiency in modern high level programming languages like Ruby / Python etc and some experience with MVC web frameworks would be preferred You have a good understanding of web security, including common vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies as well as knowledge of common authentication/authorization protocols (eg. OAuth, JWT, etc.) You have built engaging UIs with one or more modern Javascript frameworks Angular / Vue / React / Ember etc. You have some experience in scrum methodologies and iterative development You are independent, not afraid of making mistakes along the way and enjoy learning from them You are a team player and willing to communicate with the other teams in the company (Product Managers, UI / UX Designers, and more importantly fellow engineers locally and abroad) We work with Ruby on Rails / Vue js / Node and write tests on a daily basis. Experience with these technologies and tools are desired but not an absolute requirement. You probably have a computer science degree or relevant work-experience as a software engineer, but passion and demonstrated expertise are what we care about.
