Job Description

Starline is expanding its technology strategy and testing practices with an additional focus on improving test coverage and incorporating process automation and visual system inspection. We are currently looking for highly talented and experienced Senior Test Systems Engineer to lead production testing and automation deployment at our Singapore facility. Essential Functions Automate production test processes through the architecture and design of Hardware and Software Integrated Test Systems which: Ensure electrical safety of Starline products Meet recognized safety standards Meet the functional requirements of Starline, our customers and certifying agencies (validate and verify) Achieve complete test coverage of products and product functions Utilize National Instruments development software (i.e. LabVIEW, TestStand) Act as Integrated Test System Development and Starline Products Subject Matter Expert locally for the Singapore facility and remotely for the USA Facility Night Shift and UK Facility. Provide Technical and Project Leadership in support of various Advanced Technology Team projects Interface with third party developers to establish design and delivery requirements for contracted test and automation system development work Work closely with the OPEX team to incorporate various automation technologies into current manufacturing and test processes, specifically providing support for integrating automation with existing test systems and architecting system control software Work collaboratively with USA-Based R&D and Operations during new product development Provide support for deployed test systems Deploy and manage PCBA functional test and calibration equipment both on-site at the Starline Singapore facility and off-site at PCBA contract manufacturers' facilities Validate functionality of software and hardware systems following shipment from USA to Singapore, prior to initial deployment or following system updates Manage test equipment locally in Singapore, as well as equipment deployed off-site to PCBA contract manufacturers or remotely at the UK facility Maintain test equipment inventory Prepare and order ready-to-deploy spares for critical components Ensure that the equipment requiring calibration is up-to-date Handle RMAs for equipment requiring repair Request equipment transfers from USA, as required Support deployment and maintenance of testing equipment at UK Facility, as required Additional Duties Mentor junior test engineers and technicians Provide technical expertise in support of global production testing and integrated process automation Develop technical documentation according to customer and company standards Work closely with Starline leadership and partners to promptly identify and resolve customer problems or issues Report progress to Advanced Technology Supervisor, Singapore Operations Manager and other stakeholders Model high standards of conduct and leadership Promote and adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the SECRIT values Other duties as assigned by leadership Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Clear and concise written and oral communication skills, including ability to effectively interact with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds Working knowledge of international safety and quality standards (UL/IEC/CCC, etc.) Proven ability to lead technical projects while achieving goals Advanced skills in analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and maintaining application code in a variety of contexts Complete understanding of end-to-end software development methodologies and lifecycles and experience of having completed and led projects Advanced skills in design of printed circuit boards, wired electrical assemblies and integrated electrical systems using off-the-shelf hardware, including extensive experience with schematic and wiring diagram development Knowledge of three-phase power distribution systems is required Experience with configuration and integration of process automation technologies is preferred Excellent analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze multifaceted, complex situations, problems, and concepts Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline, Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 7 years working within a test engineering or integrated system development environment Proven ability to lead technical projects and act as subject matter expert Able to develop and decipher NI LabVIEW code (v.2014+), Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or higher certification is preferred Experience with National Instruments TestStand and SQL database development is preferred Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Up to 25% international travel required Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection. Regularly required to stand; walk and communicate with others.
