What is it like being a Personal Financial Consultant at OCBC?

As a Personal Financial Consultant, you will be based at one of our island-wide Branches and will provide comprehensive, one-stop financial advisory services to customers through the active promotion and cross-selling of our full range of wealth management products which include insurance, loans, unit trusts and structured deposits. By providing sound portfolio management and financial consultancy services, we help our customers make informed decisions about their money in order to achieve their goals while fostering a long-term relationship.

To help you succeed in your role, you will join our structured training program during the first 6 weeks of your career with us. Thereafter you will also have at least 5 training days every year to help you further develop your career while keeping your skills sharp and relevant with the latest developments in the industry.

As a successful Personal Financial Consultant, you will have the option to take your career forward by either pursuing our Management Route, on the path of becoming a Branch Manager or the Sales Route, progressing into a Premier Relationship Manager working with Premier & Private clients.

Your typical workday may be as follows:

A consultant would primarily serve retail customers and advise them on various personal banking and financial products and services offered by the bank.
Seek opportunities to engage more customers through branch banking touch points, tele-appointments, customer referrals.
Provide sound financial advisory and holistic financial planning to customers.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of banking regulations and adhere to the rules and guidelines when conducting business.
Maintain yourself professionally and deliver impeccable service standards as prescribed by Bank service values.
Achieving a holistic balanced scorecard.

Requirements:

A local diploma or a degree in any discipline
A willingness to work on a flexible schedule which includes weekends
A passion for banking, relationship management and portfolio management
Excellent teleconsulting, communication and listening skills
Confidence and presentation skills
Ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
