Job Title Senior Network Engineer Overview Provides network engineering to Mastercard networking environments to ensure the networks that are built meetâ€™s Mastercardâ€™s business requirements. Network Engineering is engaged early in the project lifecycle to ensure the technical design meets the sizing and performance requirements of each application. The primary responsibility of a Network Engineer is ensuring infrastructure and security designs adhere to MasterCard standards, processes, availability requirements, and best practices. Requires a deep understanding of network hardware, networking, security and tools used to monitor, test and evaluate those technologies. This is a â€œhands onâ€ role that builds and implements network configurations. The completed design is handed off to other teams for operational support. Are you passionate about driving security standards? Responsibilities Interact with the development and project teams to transform business and technical requirements into network design. Create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market. Contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise. Provides advanced technical support for Mastercardâ€™s environment with an emphasis on networking technologies, resolving complex project escalations as they arise. Builds relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., network architecture, network engineering, network security center) to ensure technical platform or center wide disaster recovery processes are in place and the networking environment is operating efficiently. Carries out changes within the network environment, including coordinating project efforts and provides input on team assignments Supports development and implementation of standards, procedures, and processes for the junior operational support team May support vendor relationships, interacting with vendors on a day-to-day basis, resolving issues as they arise for Engineering. Participate in various aspects of the change process including creating changes, reviewing changes, implementing changes, and validating changes. Experiences Extensive experience providing complex technical support and maintenance for networking technologies within the operations environment, including those with diverse scopes Extensive experience interfacing with customers on infrastructure related services, further advancing their understanding of customer problems and experiences Successfully identified areas for network enhancements, incorporating process improvements and implementing complex project changes to increase operational and financial value Successfully served as a subject matter expert, interfacing with customers on infrastructure related services and sharing new insights within the Technology Operations team Requirements Routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, PfR, etc.) Switching (Catalyst and Nexus) Firewalls (Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto,etc.) Wireless ISE /NAC IPsec, AnyConnect, DMVPN, Global Protect, etc. VPN Technologies. TCP/IP Network traces/packet captures ITIL Process related to Incident Management, Change Management, etc. Due to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
