About About The Role The Network Architect, Reporting To The Global Head Of Infrastructure Architecture And Working Closely With The Lead Network Architect, Will Be Responsible For Helping To Develop Network Architecture, Strategy And Roadmap Researching Innovation And Emerging Technologies Running Proof Of Concept Projects, Lab Trials, Vendor/Technology Evaluation Customer/Partner Engagements And Design Artefacts For Dyson Projects Being The Wider Infrastructure Team’S Main Point Of Engagement With The Dyson Estates Function Which Manage Dyson Facilities Across 40+ Offices And Campus Locations In 20+ Countries Working Closely With Fellow Network Architects And Security Architects, Other Functional Area Technical Architects, And Wider Business Users To Ensure Robust, Highly Performing, Reliable, Scalable And Secure Network Solutions Are In Place Throughout All IT Systems And Platforms. Leading The Development Of Manufacturing, Campus And Retail Network Evolution Use Cases And Long Term Network Architecture In Collaboration With Estates Stakeholders, Partners And Fellow Technical Architects. Designing And Recommending Network Solutions To Align With Business, Process And Application Requirements, Particularly Focusing On Dyson’S Expanding Footprint In Office Spaces, R&D Labs And Manufacturing Sites In Sea. Providing Advice And Consultation To Various Teams Throughout The Business On Matters Relating To Network Design And Operation, Including Mentoring Of Network Engineers And Analysts. Identifying Gaps And Requirements, Ultimately Researching, Designing And Delivering Wan/Lan And Other Networking Related Solutions. Being Responsible For Production Of Design And Project Artefacts For IT Projects With A Networking Element. Delivering Business Cases For Various Solution Architectures, And High Level Design. Carrying Out Procurement And Vendor Selection, Through To Low Level Implementation And Handover To Operational Teams. Understanding Of Advanced Datacentre Networking Equipment Including Nexus 9K/7K/5K/2K, Catalyst Series Switches And Wireless Products, Cisco Routers, Dr Integration, Next Gen Firewalls, Vpn Etc. Experience With Enterprise Class Network Management/Monitoring Systems Is Desired (Solarwinds, Nagios, Stealthwatch, Cybervision Etc.). Solid Understanding Of Layered Network And Security Protocols Exceptional Documentation Skills That Can Clearly Articulate Technical Designs, Issues And Constraints, Procedures, And Network Assessments. Strong Conceptual Thinking And Communication Skills. Ability To Work Well Under Minimal Supervision And With A High Degree Of Autonomy And Responsibility. Team Oriented Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Communicate Effectively With A Broad Range Of People And Roles, Including Vendors, IT And Business Personnel. Good Understanding Of Technology And Process Optimization Techniques E.G. Standardisation, Consolidation, Simplification And Automation And An Appetite For Continuous Improvement. Strong Industry Knowledge Informing Procurement And Related Vendor Engagements. Comfortable Working Outside Of Core Working Hours When Necessary To Complete Tasks. Desirable A Bachelor'S Or Master'S Degree In Computer Science, Network Design Or Other Related Field; Or Equivalent Work Experience. Professional Network Vendor Certifications Such As Cisco Ccnp R&S, Ccdp, Juniper Jncis Ent, Etc. (Ccie Or Equivalent Is A Plus). Experience With Itil And Prince 2, And Knowledge Of Formal Architecture Methodologies/Frameworks (Togaf, Zachmann, Etc.)
