Responsibilities Monitor and Take remedial action on pro-actively and reactively detected services and network infrastructure faults till closure. Escalate chronic / technically complex cases to Tier 3 / Problem management / Vendors and follow-up till closure. Ensure that technical and managerial escalation and communication to stake holders are done whenever necessary. Documenting all Incidents and events through Incident ticketing system Managing Corp IP network hardware faults promptly including tracking of time taken for diagnosis, RMA dispatch, replacement of faulty unit and return of faulty unit. Liaise and coordinate with internal stake holders , providers and partners to ensure swift and efficient resolution of faults Schedule and execute break-fix changes to mitigate infrastructure faults. Impact analysis on scheduled changes / faults / outage on provider and internal networks.(e.g. Fiber cuts , Fiber diversions , submarine cable failure etc.) Identify areas of improvements to reduce Infrastructure faults and improve monitoring capability. Generating daily , weekly and monthly report on Infrastructure fault rate and trending Carry out network Infrastructure activities like new deployment of nodes and trunks to support the major network activity and growth. Perform Preventive and corrective maintenance like network device hardware and software upgrade Deployment of best practice configurations in existing infrastructure. Up keeping of IP network infrastructure records. Support service provisioning team by provide smart hand support in various Data center. Carry out Network change activities during silent hours. Operational standby on-call on 24x7 basis. The Ideal Candidate Should Have/be A good Diploma in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems from a recognized institution. Candidates with 2 years of relevant experience and knowledge in Transmission access media such as ILC/LLC/ADM/SDH and TCPIP networking can be considered if there is no diploma. Working experience in the operation and maintenance of IP networks of global service providers will have added advantage. Understanding of Internet routing protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, OSFP, ISIS, BGP, MPLS etc Knowledge of routers/switches architecture and analytical and trouble-shooting skills in the area of technical fault isolation and rectification. Those who have the followings will have added advantage: Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or Juniper certifications (JNCIA, JNCIS) or Huawei certifications (HCNA, HCNP). Possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Self-starter and highly driven with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team. Tasks orientated with sense of urgency in executing operational duties Ability to work with tight timeline to deliver results.
