We are looking for a dynamic individual to join ViewQwest, a home grown Internet Service Provider that is driven by technical innovation and our commitment to excellent customer service. The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing all aspects of networking. To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.

Responsibilities

Working with the Network teams on the building and maintaining the day-to-day operation of Network Infrastructure that companies and organizations rely on. These networks typically dark fiber, DWDM, switching and IP.
Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Monitor, test and troubleshoot network performance.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Participate in managing all network security solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Information Technology related field of study with a network engineering focus.
3-5 years of relevant working experience.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches.
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection.
A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
LAN, WAN and Network security experience.
