The Group Manager focuses on the project and program management of integrated client solutions featuring Microsoft-based technologies. A sound knowledge of the systems development lifecycle is required. He/She will plan and manage different parts of the design and build process, and bring the dependencies of the total solution together. Group Managers will also serve as Career Managers.

Primary Responsibilities

* Serves as project manager; manages multiple teams (e.g., design team, test team, architecture team) on a single deployment effort.

* Responsible for ensuring plans prepared by each of the teams are accurate and that the dependencies between all the related teams are thought through.

* Defines the critical path, anticipating potential obstacles and overcoming them.

* Manages the overall project plan, scope, deliverables, customer expectations, risks, issues, quality, etc.

* Develops realistic work estimates, financial budgets and timelines. Monitors performance to ensure that financials and staffing for the project are on schedule.

* Creates a participative work environment, balancing the development needs of team members with the requirements of the project.

 

Primary Pre-Sales Responsibilities

* Assist in driving Business Development initiatives key consulting and software principal alliance partners.

* Support relationship based selling to customers while working closely with BD representatives & other technical consultants.

* Develop strong relationships with partners and customers.

* Work closely with Senior Consultants and bid teams internally to maximise the business development capability.

* Work with the Marketing function and BD representatives to develop business development collateral and leverage capabilities.

Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required

* More than 8 years of IT Project Management experience

* Degree in Computer Science/IT Management

* Experience working as part of a consulting organization delivering projects / programs of work into Enterprise or Government customers

* IT background - preferably with a balance between infrastructure and software dev projects (Microsoft exposure highly desirable)

* Demonstrated customer delivery track record of success (full lifecycle)

* More than 3 years of team management experience (For Group Managers)

* Experience in proposal development, project estimation, project delivery and exposure to application management and support

* Broad experience in running multiple simultaneous projects of varying sizes and complexities

* Strong commercial awareness

* Strong customer relationship and consulting skills

* Exposure to waterfall and Agile delivery methods

* PMP and/or Prince2 certification desirable
