Solution Design Engineer (MPLS)

PURPOSE OF JOB/MISSION:

CRITICAL TASKS:

Ensure quality delivery of technical documentation to agreed timescales
Produce design specifications for network infrastructures, including:
High and Low Level Systems Design Documentation
Detailed customer/supplier’s specification for equipment
Detailed configurations for network infrastructures
Undertake requirement analysis from design specifications and produce System Requirements
Support remote implementations as required.

ualifications and EXPERIENCE:

CCNA/CCDA minimum, CCNP/CCIP/CCVP/CCDP preferred
3 years minimum in Cisco Design and support environment
A proven track record of working within networking arena within an enterprise environment.
A proven track record of the design of IP Networks from end to end, including Integration and Testing.
An in depth knowledge of Cisco technologies, network design and implementation.
Experience of Undertaking requirement analysis from design specifications
Experience of Writing detailed customer/supplier’s specification for equipment
Ability to demonstrate fundamental technical understanding of communications networks, such as protocols, network components, design elements and architecture
Must demonstrate expert knowledge of platform operating systems (router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols) and how they interact with the network

IP address schemes and subnetting (IPv4)
