Technical Support Specialist (WAN DATA)
1. Configuration of customer networks in accordance with customer network design criteria

Essential
1. Minimum of 5 years experience in the telecommunications field, demonstrating a strong background in data communications with a clear understanding of technologies and systems used, this should include some of the below;
2. Frame Relay, ATM/ADSL, PDH/SDH, Cisco Routers & Switches, PPP, MLPPP, Ethernet
3. Excellent understanding of TCP/IP protocols & services (TCP/UDP, IPSec, VoIP, SNMP, DNS, Radius/TACACS+, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
4. Experience of provisioning tools and network management applications such as Oracle IPSA, Alcatel 5620 SAM, CNM, Cramer, Alcatel 5620 ATM,
5. Strong understanding of MPLS VPN fundamentals and their application within a Service Provider environment, including the application of QoS mechanisms
6. Experience configuring Juniper devices
7. Knowledge of multi vendor firewall configuration
8. Experience in the maintenance of an enterprise data network architecture
9. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
10. Good interpersonal skills – sensitive to customer’s needs, patient, pleasant and diplomatic
11. Able to work and resolve complex problems using own initiative

3. Experience of provisioning tools and network management applications such as, IPPI, SMARTS, Alcatel 5620 ATM, Radius, DOBI, SDA/AAP, Quip, Solaris, Unix, Linux
4. Project management skills
Qualifications
1. ONC/HNC or equivalent in Computer or Telecommunications Engineering
2. Essential: Valid Cisco Certified Professional qualification (CCNP/CCIP)
3. Desirable : Valid Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) qualification
