Part of a team of 5 providing 24 by 7 production support

• Lead support of SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 databases.
• Maintain production OLTP, reporting OLAP, staging and development environments.
• Installing, upgrading and maintaining SQL Server instances.
• Planning and executing database backup and recovery.
• Work with application engineers to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Experience with SQL Server Cluster, Replication, Log Shipping for HA/DR.
• Using change management processes to prevent production disruptions and outages.
• Researching and recommending solutions that best meet business needs and Enterprise operational requirements.
• Proven track record in building highly scalable/performing/24x7 web-enabled database environments
• Additional RDBMS Oracle or DB2 or Sybase skills are added advantage.

Job Requirements :

• Minimum of 4-6 years of SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 DBA experience.
• Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
• Provide on call 24/7 support
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
