Be directly involved in the daily coordination, development and operational support of Network operations, he will delegate, work alone or with other Analysts to deliver network services to meet the needs of Service Delivery Managers, or of Project Managers on new implementation works.

1.  To lead a team of technical staff (engineers and senior engineers).  
2.  To ensure that systems are documented and kept current.  
3.  To own and maintain the network infrastructure for online services and ensure availability, meeting agreed OLAs and SLAs. This includes all network environments within the managed platforms across multiple data centres.  
4.  Management and maintenance of Internet facing network devices and address space on  platforms  
5.  Management of technical developments of operational importance and participation in developing or setting standards as directed.  
6.  To work with partners to ensure that their networks are configured and maintained to support the levels of availability required.  
7.  To work with the architecture, infrastructure engineering and delivery teams to ensure that the network infrastructure remains current, performs to standard and is well understood.  
8.  To improve the standard of technical operations and competencies within the team.  
9.  To participate in incident, problem and capacity management processes  
10.  To work and liaise with other operations teams and the wider technical community in order to diagnose and fix service affecting issues.  
11.  To work and liaise with Solution teams and the wider technical community on design, implementation, and transition to BAU operation of new network infrastructure  
12.  To ensure that the platforms remain highly available.

Required Knowledge & Experience

1.  Extensive technical knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining highly available, Data centre networks  
2.  Extensive experience troubleshooting multi-tier Internet applications platforms, particularly for web applications and streaming  
3.  Strong knowledge in LAN, VLAN, VRF, WAN, MAN, P2P Links, VPN and network security technologies  
4.  Experience with a broad range of network hardware, software  
5.  Deep understanding of network protocols, and their applications and characteristic behaviours  
6.  Experience implementing pragmatic network security and audit  
7.  Current, industry recognised, advanced certification  
8.  Good understanding of network configuration and troubleshooting on a range of server Operating systems  
9.  Experience of working with application and network layer cryptography and virtualisation  
10.  Experience of working within an ITIL framework
