You will be responsible for development and maintenance work & support on Cargo ERP product and performing the role of Scrum Master for the local Singapore based Scrum Team.This position is accountable for upholding the Scrum values principles and practices.

This position will promote self-organization within the scrum team and so the Scrum Master will work with the team so that they will learn to function independently and take accountability for delivery and quality.

Profile

The candidate should meet the following pre-requisites:

At least 1 year experience as a Scrum Master
At least 5 years working experience as a software developer in Java technology using agile and XP methodologies.
Must be competent in Java programming language and have a good understanding of Object Oriented best coding and design practices
Experienced of the main IT processes: requirements management, development, integration, support, maintenance.
Specific requirements:
Experienced in distributed Java development using EJB and Web technologies.
Experienced in modeling with UML.
Experienced in database programming in Oracle and MSSQL environments.
Knowledge development tools: IDE (Eclipse), Ant, Maven, SVN
Experience in working within Windows and UNIX environments.
Knowledge of Hibernate, Ajax, and HTML5 is a plus.
Experience with test-driven development (TDD) practices.
Capable of working in a pressured environment.
Good analytical skills, with a practical approach to problem-solving and a consensus builder.
A strong motivator , communicator and negotiator.
Fluent in English (spoken, written) is mandatory; other languages will be considered as assets.

Key Responsibilities

Development

To achieve a thorough understanding of Cargo Handling enterprise software products
To work closely with project managers/product owners, team leads, business analysts, technical support, and other software engineers involved with the development of Cargo hanlding integrated solution or other application systems
To perform multiple roles such as system analyst/designer, program coder, tester, and technical support as may be required in meeting the application development schedule and the overall project plan
To translate design specifications into program codes; adopt and adhere to the Company’s software engineering methodology and standard
To mentor software engineers and ensure compliance with software engineering standards
To actively participate in regular business and technical discussions on project updates/in resolving technical issues
To participate in the planning and execution of systems migration activities
To provide off-site or on-site technical support on production systems

Scrum Master

Ensure that SCRUM rules are understood and respected by the team, product owners, and product management.
Ensure that the team’s actions are always aligned with the acceptance criteria and project goals.
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies.
Help the team identify conflicting priorities and escalates issues that cannot be resolved quickly
Does not shy away of any tasks that could help the team and leads by example
Ensure that the team respects the definition of “done”.
Support the product owners in ensuring the items in product backlog are in “ready” state.
Formulate creative questions that will make the team more intuitive during sprint planning, product backlog grooming.
Monitor the sprint progress and velocity ensuring that the stakeholders are aware of the risks and impediments.
Provide feedback to team leaders and development managers on team member performance during evaluations
Challenge the product owner to improve product backlog contents quality by breaking them into more manageable items.
Challenge the team to organize and to keep improving their skills and apply it towards more agile mindset and way of working.
