Purpose of this role is to support/deliver projects related to Windows estate installed in APAC hub and spoke countries
Provide Early/Late/On-call support and BAU activities
Rollout security related projects such as logging and monitoring, Privileged access controls
Application design discussion and project delivery working with key stake holders such as application support teams, Service delivery manager, Project manager
Support DR/Data center move projects, Integration/Separation activities
The successful applicant will be part of the operational team supporting the Windows infrastructure in Asia-Pacific. The role will involve Windows support & project deployment duties
The candidate will need to lead Windows engineering projects in Asia Pacific Region
BAU support for GIS production environments, maintaining documentation on the physical architectures being developed and deployed globally.
Reviewing and Identification of any key Infrastructure issues, resolutions and recommendations within the Windows and Citrix environment.
Applicant will ideally come from a background supporting large, distributed Windows infrastructures, with experience of Microsoft Windows support functions, hands-on experience with the technologies (e.g. Windows 2003/2008, Citrix PS 4.5, VMWare, Symantec Foundation for Windows).
The candidate must be customer focused and have excellent communication and project management skills and be able to work in a dynamic, fast moving environment. A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to educate and motivate other team members.
Should have strong procedural and process ethic.

Key deliverables:

Administration and support for all Windows servers in the region
Good knowledge of VM Ware
Monitor server component failures in the region, and co-ordinate vendor site access for replacements
Review and update vendor procedures for hardware and operating systems installation and maintenance
Involvement in the strategic planning of engaging third party vendors to perform infrastructure related tasks
Provide managed service infrastructure design consultancy
Write clear and concise technical documentation
Good knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
Windows server estate upgrade, tuning and capacity planning
Ongoing evaluation and analysis of the server estate to provide optimum performance
Project management for new infrastructure rollout. 100% projects completed on time, within budget, with project quality measures.
Explore and review third party solution that could offer improvement to the business
To perform testing of third party software prior to release to the production environment
Provide on-site support as part of a Rota from 7am- 7pm Monday Friday
Provide on-callsupport in addition to the core on-site daily cover
Provide follow the sunsupport model for global team
Ongoing review of security/hotfixes to ensure the Windows server estate are up to date
Maintain good working relationships with RBS IT
