Senior Network Engineer (NOC, financials)

Principal Responsibility:

Responsible for maintaining and implementing enhancement for our client's Global Financial networks for efficient daily operations.

Main duties:

Network monitoring
Planning of and execution of installations; client and internal.
Client meetings to discuss installation requirements.
Vendor/Supplier meetings.
Site visits.
Network Trouble shooting
Fault reporting to PTTs.
Customer liaison on faults, changes and installations.
Internal liaison on faults, changes and installations (included non-office hours works).
Report writing.
Other duties as designated by the Manager or delegate.

Experience:

8 or more years experience in a telecommunications or IT environment with a strong focus on WAN and IP-based router networking.
Experience of configuring or designing large IP-based Intranet/Extranets incorporating Firewall security and server services.
A diligent, tenacious and thorough individual, converse and comfortable with WAN and Web networking operating system environments, with the ability to work confidently at a detailed level, unsupervised on critical network configuration activities.
Team player, customer focused with an innovative nature to resolve problems and offer solutions.
Good language abilities.

Technical Knowledge:

Cisco accreditation to the level of CCNP, or equivalent in depth skills and knowledge.
Good base networking knowledge: X.25, Frame Relay, ATM, Dial, TCP-IP, IPsec, Internet, Time Divisional Multiplexes and Web based service networking such as directory services
Knowledge and experience of Nortel, Cisco, and Firewall technologies.
• IT literate in Microsoft products.
