Resource Manager cum Project Planner

  • The Resource Manager will manage the Staffing and Resource Planning for IT projects across Australia, Singapore, Sri Lanka & New Zealand. The Resource Manager manages all of the technical and functional project resource requirements while working closely with the Project Managers to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • The candidate will need to understand Project management methodology and approaches with an eye to practice development and resource optimization.The candidate will need to understand all of the unique requirements of our business units and know the capabilities of our resources to ensure proper fit.
  • Finally, the candidate will work closely with the Demand and Delivery Managers to grow the practice, ensure proper optimization of resources and will be responsible for group wide communications for the I&DT group.

There are two main responsibility areas for the role

Resource Management

  • Plan the allocation of project resources for specific service implementation projects to meet project requirements
  • Forecast supply and demand for given skills profiles
  • Identify risk areas i.e. supply/demand, over/under staffed, shortage of a specific skill etc. and review these with internal stakeholders
  • Actively participate in and facilitate pipeline reviews for visibility on future projects
  • Facilitate weekly staffing call with Project Manager(s) to discuss resource capabilities, potential projects
  • Coordinate staffing requirements that cannot be filled internally
  • Coordinate on-boarding new team members, coordinate pre-screening activities and train new team on systems and tools that relate to the Resource Management function
  • Collaborate across different functional groups within I&DT (ie, Network, Infra, Reporting etc.)

Operations

  • Manage and track Team skills and resumes
  • Collaborate with PM’s to report on, monitor and update the PMO
  • Maintain and report on data across multiple systems
  • Weekly resource reporting future demand, availability (or bench) reporting, variance reports, and other metrics as required by management
  • Actively participate in on-going process improvement discussions and activities

Preferred Skills and Other Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in resource/project management
  • The ideal candidate is a hardworking and highly organized professional, who has solid skills and experience in resource planning and project management
  • Professional/Consulting Services Operations or Resource Management experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment with conflicting priorities
  • Ability to manage change effectively and with a positive attitude
  • Ability and willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, G Suite, Service Now,
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs or tools

Annual Base salary : 84k to 108K pa
