Vendor Manager

The Vendor Manager is responsible for the following:
1.Client/Stakeholder Management (Subcription Committee)
- Work closely with Subcription Committee and ensure effective and timely support including Vendor reviews, budgeting, contract review and management
- Vendor Management not limited to vendor assessment, selection and vendor review
- Key contact for subscriptions stakeholder group (key client)
- Manage day-to-day operations (guided by policies set out by the sub-committee)
- Periodic review of subscriptions
- Usage analysis and optimization
- Vendor assessment and selection
- Negotiating / re-negotiating of contracts (subject to final signoff by client)
- Preparation of contracts, including negotiation
- User surveys
- Preparation of proposals for new subscriptions / cancellation of existing subscriptions
- Preparing budget submissions
- Support client in other Subscriptions related matters that may arise
- Strengthen training efforts for efficient use of resources
- Targeted and comprehensive user training to inform users of resources available and to better utilize these resources
- Maintain clear documentation of service agreement with Subscription Committee
- Maintain clear documentation on information resources
- Maintain operation error/issue log with resolution plans
- Promote responsible user behavior for all information services
- Responsible for budgeting and forecasting of subscription services for the client
- Quarterly and year end accrual for the client.
2.Business Development : Third-Party Business
- Price and contract negotiation for the preferential rates to be extended to third-parties
Vendor Management
- Responsible for business development and sale of subscriptions to third-parties
- Manage relationship with third-parties
- Manage related vendor contracts and third-party contracts
3.Procurement Management/Strategic Sourcing
- Roll out and setup procurement process ie ensure that all request are manage
- In depth financial analysis of discretionary spend, attention to details
- Support to establishpolicies/guidelines on ‘savings’ reporting
- To log all save and secure sign off from stakeholder
- Establish vendor assessment and selection criteria
- Project Manage and issue RFI, RFP, and RFQ.
- Excellent contract negotiation and price negotiation with vendors
- Establish preferred supplier listings for the various key commodities/categories
Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum Degree level with at least 5 years of Vendor Management experience
- Experience in vendor management especially in area of financial services (information services), the likes of Thomson Reuters, Capital IQ
- Proficient in contract reviews and contract negotiation and contract management
- Strong stakeholder management
- Proven Project Management experience
- Ability to design, develop and improve processes
- Ability to work independently, and on a project team
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals in other disciplines and organizations
- An eye for details, meticulous and organized
- Experience in change management preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for the role
